Copper fold formed and enamelled - the blue (with a hint of green) enamel is built up over several firings. Black wet process enamel layered between the blue to create texture and colour. The unenamelled copper shows through at the ends and edges, blackened from the intense heat. The surface is sealed with micro crystalline wax.
The enamel on this piece is purposefully rustic primitive. Intended to communicate age - a piece that has already been lived-in.
Fold forming - which involves annealing (heating to soften the metal so it can more easily shaped), folding and hammering - gives the metal additional structure and strength. The top of the cuff is hammered to create a lip.
Around 8 inches (20 cm) end to end, 2 1/2 inches in diameter and around 1 1/2 inches (3 1/2 cm) in width. It has very little give and it is designed to slip over the hand like a bangle.
The enamel is lead free. Whilst very robust it is glass so be careful not to drop the cuff onto a hard surface.

On average, I find shipping to most places in the world takes a couple of weeks. It can, on occasion, take longer. I ship most non-domestic items with tracking so you can keep an eye on your item as it wings its way to you.
In this world of online shopping, free shipping is becoming the norm. I'm trialling offering free shipping for some of my items to see if this suits my customers' better.
All my items are wrapped and ready for gifting. I ship most international items with tracking (some smaller items like earrings, may not have tracking as it makes them unreasonably expensive). Domestic items are generally posted Express so you can get them quickly.
Of course. What's the point of jewelry you aren't going to wear! Shopping online is convenient, but sometimes you need to see a thing up-close and and in-person to know how you really feel about it. If you'd like to return your item, just let me know within 14 days of delivery.
My work is organic and purposefully rustic. My pieces take a journey with me as I create them and this aesthetic celebrates the signposts that mark this journey - surface stitches, tool marks, texture and patina are beautiful.
I use found and salvaged objects a lot in my work. These tell a story and reflect my commitment to sustainability.
Pricing is one of the hardest things for an artist. I try to keep my prices accessible, whilst reflecting the time and materials that have gone into creating my pieces.
My process is very organic and personal so, the short answer is no, I don't generally take custom orders. However, please feel free to reach out to me if you have something in mind. I've worked with several of my regular customers to create a piece that uses a material or object that holds a special meaning for them.
