A rustic assemblage necklace with rosary wrapped beads - African silver metal, lava, lucite, shell, stone, bone and wood in neutral raw colours. At one end a large pale amethyst cluster set into an aged Indian bell. At the other a large rustic hand forged copper hook which links to the bale of the bell. Diverse elements which harmonize in this deliberately primitive necklace.
Around 18 inches or 46 cm end to end. The amethyst and bell focal is around 2 3/4 inches or 7cm from top to bottom.
My process for creating pieces like these is very hunter-gatherer. First I hunt elements some old and some new- salvaging from discarded or broken jewelry, beads or baubles that I have picked up on my travels or closer to home. Then, I gather my hoard together and begin creating and recreating until I am happy with the result. This can be quick but, more often than not, it's slow!
