A rustic tribal necklace of found and recycled elements: a drilled grey carved rectangle salvaged from a broken bracelet from which hang two long dangles of seed pod, bone and ceramic beads, a small abalone shell and a natural holey stone or hag stone.
Hag stones, known by many other names including witch stones, are stones with naturally occurring holes through which, so goes the ancient lore, you can see mythic creatures or see through the human disguises to the true nature of the supernatural creature in question! This particular stone is black and comes from a beautiful beach in Victoria Australia.
The focal is suspended from a beautifully rustic dark brown leather chord, the ends bound in heavy black iron wire which will acquire a rusty patina over time (this can be removed with a damp clothing preferred).
Around 18 1/2 inches (47 cm) end to end. 5 inches (13 cm) from the top of the carved bone rectangle to the bottom of the hang stone dangle.
